Missing Red

Missing Red reflects on the practice and role of a scientific experiment. It shows measurements of blue and green LEDs, thinking LEDs as proto-pixels. Under voltage sweep, LEDs emit light, reach their maximum, and die.

Some of these LEDs are, fortunately, imperfectly fabricated. This connects to scientific work as labor. The work repositions its results beyond their intended purpose, situating them within the structures and environments – both scientific and natural – that they ultimately touch.

It also reflects on color, on the primary colors: red, green, and blue. Drawing RGB as a boundary. Red's absence is central to the work, framing it as a connection between the scientific and the everyday.
